This time, it's the GK216 version which we have to show you, instead of the later expanded set. But here's a curious thing…
We do have a later transfer sheet, but it doesn't include the extra birds on the right. In other words, it looks exactly the same as the GK216/3 sheet.
However, if you look along the right-hand edge, it appears to have been cut by hand — not by machine. So I suspect someone has been naughty, & cut off the extra birds for their own nefarious purposes.
Curses! I suppose this means now I will have to look out for a litho "Heath and Woodland" set…
UPDATE (the next day): a trawl through the archives has turned up two litho sheets for "Heath and Woodland", & they're both the same size as the gravure sheet — i.e., narrow. So which option is simpler: 1) the first two litho sheets were widened, but not the third; 2) the third sheet was widened as well, but coincidentally the two examples I've seen were trimmed for some reason at exactly the right point for maximum confusion?
