Galactic Task-Force & Universal Task-Force — Page One of Eight

Galactic Task-Force

Ideal Toys commissioned a range of six playsets from Letraset in the style of 2000AD (in the event featuring one of their artists), largely for sale in the US rather than the UK.

Before the range was approved, there were some last-minute changes; the name was changed from "Galactic Task-Force" to "Universal Task-Force", & the exact contents of each playset was changed. There are no longer any "Super Glitter Action Transfers" included, although quite a few of the transfers are Glow-in-the-Dark.

Note that each set has a different coloured strip along the top edge, for ease of identification!

We are very pleased to be able to show you these design samples from before the final changes were made. Each one consists of a single board with a clear overlay. They don't open, so you don't get to see the backgrounds (but of course these are available to view on subsequent pages). The back of each mock-up is identical, so only one example is shown here.

Note the use of Letraset's famous "Lorem ipsum" filler text on the back covers:

Finally, you can see the "Kaarl the Korrector" artwork both with & without the overlay.

Next we have the items that came with each set once it had been approved after the name-change, & also the later versions from Thomas Salter.
