Shreddies Battlestar Galactica, 1979 [LP75a]

Let's face it — the transfer sheet artwork just isn't all that good. Still, I don't suppose that spoiled anyone's fun! I suspect the figures were traced from supplied character reference sheets or stills.

There were four transfer sheets, & four 'Battlescapes' on the packet backs.

Packets of Malted Shreddies came in two sizes at this time: 10 oz. & 15 oz., so in all there were eight varieties of packet — four Battlescapes in two packet sizes. It's not clear if each transfer sheet was designed specifically for the corresponding Battlescape; it seems unlikely, due to the logistical problems this would entail. Sheet 3 does seem designed for Scene 3, however! But what we can say is that whatever size your Battlescape, the transfers would always be the same size, giving you a different scale: proportionally smaller figures on a 15 oz. Battlescape, or proportionally larger figures on a 10 oz. Battlescape.

Paul Naylor, who kindly provided photos for two of the above sets, had earlier supplied the cut-out used panel below to give you a sense of transfer-to-Battlescape scale. Paul is still looking for a couple of the packet variants, & if you have one you are willing to part with, I imagine he would be the best person to approach! (As always, we'll pass on any messages if necessary.)
