Bimbo Plum Cake: Bimborama
Spanish bakery Bimbo produced three Letraset promotions in the form of booklets they called "Bimborama". Originally they all appeared here on a single page, but recently so much additional material has shown up that I've had to split the article into three pages — one for each album:
- ← Serie Lucky Luke
- Serie Circo / Serie Selva / Serie Bucaneros — this page
- Volar Y Saber →
Serie Circo — Serie Selva — Serie Bucaneros
This Bimborama came in two different versions: full, & considerably abbreviated. The full version contained three sections: Circus, Jungle, & Pirates.
Front page.
Back page: instructions for rubbing down transfers.
The centre pages folded out to form a full panorama, as if you were entering the tent — nicely done!
The 'Circo Bony' background looks awfully familiar… I would say it's been copied from the Dumbo Circus Panorama.
The Jungle & Buccaneer series speak for themselves. I've only shown one page of Serie Bucaneros, because the other pages appear in more detail below.
I don't have any of the transfers for this Bimborama, so thanks to my kind & generous donors — although I can't help wishing someone would send me larger, clearer images than these…
However, we do have the smaller version of the album, unused. Serie Selva is omitted altogether, Serie Bucaneros is missing one page (the one shown above), & Serie Circo shows only two rings of the three-ring circus.
Back (left) & front page (right).
Two out of three is better than just one!
The centre pages are signed by the artist, Faba.
